Japan2010 - Kyoto Walk (Day 2)

2nd day was a Kyoto Walk Day......started by taking bus to get to Kinkakuji.....from there, we slowly make our ways toward the Philosopher's Lane...here's the signboard and the street leading to Kinkakuji....

As we go further down the street, the number of sakura trees increase.....its lining both side of the walking pathway.....

It was cold but at least it was not raining ^^

When we entered the philosopher's lane...we saw this one shop selling all sweet stuff...and I bought myself a bun with sweet potato....I expected it to be hot...but surprisingly...it was cold! Wonder why they did not make it hot when the weather was cold....:P

Here's some pictures of the philosopher's lane....

Wouldn't be writing much about the walk though as it was not one of my best memory of the trip :P Gomen ^^

Throughout the walk, I asked my hime sama that if they wants to go ahead to Kiyomizudera by bus...then they should do so!!! I was silently hoping they would...so that I can enjoy the walk but unfortunately for me, they would not....and I have to bear it. This was where I made a promise never ever again would I do a walking expedition with anyone who does not enjoy any kind of nature's walk........its depressing on the soul !

We stopped by Kyoto Handicraft Center before proceeding to Heian Shrine...on the way we crossed this bridge...it was beautiful....here's some of the pictures.

We did not entered Heian Shrine.....I think at this point I just want to finished up the walk as soon as I can.....warui hito atashi....:P

Between Heian Shrine and Maruyama Park, we saw this huge gate...I'm not sure the name though.....it must be famous as there was lots of people going through it!

Maruyama Park was filled with people...to many of them that I started to get a headache....I don't really like the park as there was lots of blue mats and people selling all types of food items...it has the atmosphere of a matsuri but it makes the park look messy....for some reason, I don't feel its interesting or nice.....but the sakura was beautiful though ^^

We took a wrong turn while in Maruyama Park and instead of heading towards the Sannen and Ninen zaka....we reached Yasaka Shrine in Gion ....and have to turn back from the way we came.......finally we reached a junction.... all of us are hungry because we did not get our lunch at Kyoto Handicraft Center, like we plan, as the cafe was closed for public ....there seems to be a group booking or something....so we decided to have our lunch at a shop name Miyako.....once finished with our lunch, we crossed to the opposite side and followed 2 ladies into a small stone path.......which lead us to Sannen and Ninen zaka.
Picture of Ninen and Sannen zaka pathway!

It was overly crowded....we made our way slowly up the stone pathway....and meet up with this maiko with her mama san....

She walks in small steps...smile gently at all the surrounding people and speak softly to the mama san......very onna rashi....^^

After walking for quite a while up the stone steps....finally we reached Kiyomizu dera....and again it was overly crowded... me and has decided to sit this one out again...and wait for the rest at the exit of Kiyomizudera.....

Here's some of the pictures taken by my sister....

We decided to take the different lane to get back to the main road and avoid the main street .

The lane that we took has lesser people and it was actually a relief after all that crowd. Instead of taking the bus to Kyoto Station, we decided to take the bus that went straight to Kujo Street.. ..it was a really tiring day....:P
