Japan 2010 - Kyoto (Day 3)

Day 3 started off a bit latter than plan...and one of my hime sama did not joined us...she was having a bad leg day and decided to stay at the hostel.....but we got one new acquintance joining us for the trip ^^.....Mei Peng, hope you enjoyed the excursion with us...:)

Just like last time, we took the bus and hopped off at the Togetsu Bridge....the place look the same but with different landscape....see for yourself....kirei desu ne ^^

The greenish, blueish and pinkish colours really blend together....it was slightly drizzling when we reached there.....its cold but still okay! Instead of taking the long way through the park like we did last time...this time around we took the town street.....here's some of the pictures of the shops and shrines that we came across.

This is Keifuku Arashiyama Station....it doesn't look like a train station, isn't it!?

The signboard in the bamboo forest showing torokko arashiyama station....

Some of the pictures of the bamboo forest....

The souvenir shop at the romantic train station and the Hozu Boat River fare schedule....

The train platform..........and the train.....

The train's view of the valley below us .... .....this was the 2nd time I saw it and I still found it awesome! This is the view of our destination.

From here, we took a cab (which was already waiting for us ....it seems the people at the torokko station have already informed them upfront....isn't that nice of them ^^).....the taxi ride took about 15 minutes......and finally we reached the Hozu River Boat pier....it was raining and cold!

Once there were enough people for 3 boats....and they called my name "Masnita sama from Malaysia"....hahaha.....then off we go! A bit scary at the beginning because the boat felt fragile...but as you go downstream....you started to gain confidence with the boat people....they are professional indeed ^^. Each boat was manually manned by 3 persons....2 in front and 1 at the back and halfway through the journey, they rotate! It was fascinating and amazing to see their hardwork...and I started thinking that no wonder the trip was expensive...and it worth every yen of it ^^ . Some of the scenic views captured throughout the journey.....

Picture of the boat guy that my sis and my hime sama think is kakkoii....it was raining but he still got his hair up....amazing isn't it!?....if me, it would have been flat already....hahahaha.....

The mist from the rain really makes the pine trees magical...it was really beautiful! A totally worthy trip, in my honest opinion ^^

Reaching back to Togetsu Bridge......cold, hungry and we decided to go for a tofu dishes....I read about a nice place called Seizansodo...in front of Keifuku Train Station....when we reached there, we were a bit scary to go in...the place look expensive!

Since we already made our mind.....we went in...(without knowing how much we were going to be billed).....and the lady welcome us...and started serving us tea.....and we thought ...what the heck...just go for it.....if we don't have enough money, then just wash the dishes....hahahaha.... .luckily my hime sama saw the charges plate at the side.... JPY3150...ok....still within our means...and by that time its already too late to back off....the lady already serving appetizers...

Me in front of the shop's entrance and one of the shops inside the Keifuku Arashiyama Train Station.

From Arashiyama, we took the JR train to get to Uzumasa Station. Did a bit of walking before we reached Uzumasa Eigamura a little bit after 5pm. Dissapointingly the ticket counter already closed although it stated the opening hours is up to 5.30pm.....:(

I was devastated as this was one of the place that I really really wants to go......in view that I'm a taiga drama freak that is :P

The souvenir shop and the front counter..... luckily my sis and Mei Ping observed the souvenir shop and it seems that you can get through to the mura via the shop. So we slowly made our ways to the back end....and without anyone noticing...we slipped in...hahahaha.... YATTO HAITA......:)

[In my defence, I really wanted to pay for the entrance fee but they closed earlier]

So here's some of the pictures that we managed to get (without being caught that is).......^^

The place was awesome...I saw the bridge that I usually see in my taiga dramas....saw the street where all the fighting took place....saw the fake castle at the background....probably from a big signboard......aaaaa.....I was happy ^^

The ninja souvenir shop.....did not get to explore this shop since we were illegal... hehehehe.....

After Uzumasa Eigamura, Mei Ping and my 2 hime sama decided to go back to Kyoto Station while me and my sis decided to drop by Nijo Castle for the night viewing.....it hasn't stopped raining and it was very cold.....we reached Nijo Castle around 6.30pm and after getting the tickets, we went straight in........it was beautiful....the sakura trees were light up...there were various lanterns to guide us through the walking path....it was beautiful. The sakuras looks like stars with the black sky as a background....it was a really nice and worthy walk...and Nijo Castle is beautiful.......

We spent about an hour here before heading back to our hostel for the night....it was a tiring but a nice day.....^^
