Kanazawa Tripping - Part 1

Our nice Japanese breakfast at Hinodeya

Filled up our stomach before going off for a day of sightseeing .....TQ Mama San for the nice hearty breakfast

First thing first...off to Kanazawa Station to buy the bus ticket to Shirakawago (for the next day trip) and our day pass of 500 Yen for the day....tanoshimi hehehehe

People waiting for their schedule train...sooo discipline....all waiting patiently

1st stop.....the Geisha district.  We were here during our 2008 trip but it was already dark that time so we didn't managed to get a good snap....but this time around, it was early morning and we got the whole area to ourselves.  The down side...all the souvenir shops have yet to open...so no souvenir for me : (

If you want to be beautiful, do visit this place

The  pathway

I think this is a tea shop but it's still closed

A nice angle to snap a picture

One of the early opened shop but it looks too classy for us hehehehe

Just opposite the Geisha District, right after the bridge....is our 2nd destination.  The Samurai Street.

A view from the road

The signage

The wooden famous bridge

On the way back to the main road, we saw this public bath place....hehehehe....ofuro

Saw this nice shop......unfortunately, it was still closed....zannen

Yeah, the place that I most wanted to go this time around.............the Sakuda Gold Leaf shop.  Actually it was much more easier to get here from the Geisha District instead of the main road....but thanks to this local tourist information guy, we managed to get here quite easy hehehehehe

For the 1st time in my life, I felt like an "okane mochi hito" - rich man.............even the toilet was filled with gold leaf....so for those going to this shop, don't forget to try the toilet hehehehe

Niass isn't ???

Ahhhh....I wished I can buy the lamp and the vase....they are soo niass

The wall of the toilet

Some of the display and they cost a boom.....ohhhhh by the way, we got to watch how they made the gold leaf...will post a video on this in the next entry.  This is one of the must see place if you are ever in Kanazawa............I bought a pair of earring, a necklace and a handphone strap....I wished I could buy more hmmmm
